The County Ground, Leyland, will play host to the Lancashire FA Women's Challenge Cup this evening, as Burnley FC Women and AFC Fylde Women battle it out for the trophy.
It's been quite a road to the final for both teams, with a high-scoring semi-final round, which saw the Clarets run out winners against Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies and the Coasters secured their spot with a win over West Didsbury and Chorlton
Ahead of the occasion, Captain Lauren Bracewell said: "Fylde are always a tough team to play so we don’t expect it to be a walkover at all.
“The past few results - some have gone our way, some have gone their way. But we’re excited and we do feel like we can bring a trophy home.”
Midfielder Nicola Worthington added: "It’s always exciting to get to a cup final. I think the girls deserve to be in this final. We’ve gone on a great run, especially since January.
"I think we can take a lot of positives from how we’ve been playing recently. We just need to relax and enjoy the game and not think about the occasion too much, and just play like it’s a normal game.”
Clarets are encouraged to get behind the team at the final which, as a County Cup occasion, will take place at Lancashire FA’s County Ground, Leyland, PR25 2LF. Kick-off is 7:30pm.
Entry to the game is £8 for adults and £4 for concessions, cash on the gate.
