Matej Vydra was pleased to start a key run with a point – even if the striker felt the Clarets deserved more.
A 1-1 draw with Brighton at Turf Moor launched a potentially pivotal fortnight for Burnley, with games to follow at Crystal Palace and then at home to bottom-three sides Fulham and West Bromwich Albion.
And Johann Berg Gudmundsson’s second-half equaliser meant Sean Dyche’s men kept that duo at arm’s length as Burnley became the first team to pierce Brighton’s defence in the Premier League in five matches.
“I spoke with my dad before this game and I said we have three games out of four at home – so it’s a very good schedule for us, especially when we play against teams in the bottom half,” said Vydra.

“We have to keep working and I think we started with a very good point and we have to carry on.
“It’s the Premier League and it’s difficult taking a point. I think we’re happy with that but in the second half I think we deserved more.
“We created a lot of chances. We looked much better in the second half. We played more quickly and we were unlucky.”
Vydra was one of the catalysts behind a superb second-half performance from the Clarets as they cancelled out Lewis Dunk’s opener and went all out for the win.

The striker – partnered by the returning Ashley Barnes – caused Brighton endless problems and was only denied a winner by Robert Sanchez’s fine save.
And the Czech international hopes a first league goal of the season – and fourth in total – isn’t too far away.
“I felt much better,” Vydra told Clarets +. “It was a good performance from me – I think – but I’m missing the goal.
“I’m angry with myself. In the Premier League you can have one or two chances in the game and you need to score, which is why I’m angry with myself.
“But I’ll keep focused for the next game and keep working hard and hopefully the goal will come.”
