We’re asking you to vote for the 2022/23 Goal of the Season, with a competition running from 18th to 26th May.
As we were promoted to the Premier League, Vincent Kompany’s side netted 98 goals across all competitions, making it a campaign which will forever be remembered.
To make your choice that bit easier, we’ve shortlisted 16 strikes, and will be running the Goal of the Season competition in a knockout-style tournament format.
Starting with the Round of 16, there’ll be head-to-heads between goals, and it’s up to you to decide which one makes it through into the next stage.
The polls will be live as follows:
· Round of 16 (11am on Thursday 18th – Midnight on Sunday 21st)
· Quarter-finals (10am on Monday 22nd – Midnight on Tuesday 23rd)
· Semi-finals (10am – Midnight on Wednesday 24th)
· Final (10am-Midnight on Thursday 25th)
Eventually, 16 glorious goals will be whittled down, and on Friday 26th May we’ll announce THE Goal of the 2022/23 season.
To start, the Round of 16 fixtures are as follows:
1. Scott Twine (West Bromwich Albion – H) V Anass Zaroury (Sunderland – A)
2. Johann Berg Gudmundsson (Birmingham City – A) V Josh Brownhill (Blackpool – H)
3. Ashley Barnes (Blackburn Rovers – H) V Manuel Benson (Rotherham United – H)
4. Nathan Tella (Preston North End – H) V Connor Roberts (Huddersfield Town – H)
5. Ian Maatsen (Swansea City – A) V Manuel Benson (Blackburn Rovers – A)
6. Manuel Benson (Rotherham United – A) V Connor Roberts (Birmingham City – H)
