The U23s head back to the Giant Axe on Saturday in search of a first pre-season win.
A 2-1 defeat to tournament hosts Lancaster City in mid-week means the Clarets will face Ashton Athletic in a third/fourth place play-off in the Lockstep Trophy (KO 12.30pm).
North-West Counties top-flight outfit Ashton lost their semi-final in the competition to Clitheroe, who will face the Dolly Blues in the final later the same day.
Acting U23s’ boss Michael Jackson may have some different personnel at his disposal as the Clarets balance game time across the squads, with the first-team heading to Oldham for their opening public pre-season fixture on Saturday afternoon.
