Steve Stone’s side return to PL2 action this afternoon, as the Clarets head to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace.
Just two days after Sean Dyche’s men left South London with all three points, Stone’s youngsters will be hoping for a similar outcome.
When the two sides last met in October at Leyland, the Eagles claiming out a 1-0 win, thanks to a Brandon Pierrick goal.
However, a win for the Clarets today would move them to fourth in the Premier League Two Division Two table, dependent on results around them.
Burnley will be looking to bounce back from last Monday’s defeat at home to Stoke, but Stone’s side have only lost two of their last nine league games.
Meanwhile, the hosts come into this clash off the back of scoring eight goals in their previous two games; a 4-0 win over Norwich City, followed by a 4-4 draw with Aston Villa.
The Clarets will be without a handful of familiar faces in the side once again, with Bobby Thomas & Mace Goodridge recently joining Barrow on loan, goalkeeper Lukas Jensen heading at Bolton Wanderers on loan and Anthony Glennon, who was on the bench for Sean Dyche’s first team squad on Saturday, in and around the first-team due to the current injury list.
The game at Selhurst Park kicks off at 1:30pm, with live coverage (@ClaretsAcademy), followed by match report and reaction.
PL2 games today:
Leeds United U23s (1st) v Reading U23s (3rd).
Middlesbrough U23s (9th) v Sunderland U23s (11th).
Stoke City U23s (2nd) v Norwich City U23s (10th).
