The Under-23s kick off a busy week when they take on Fulham at the County Ground this afternoon (Monday).
Steve Stone’s side have the chance to move off the bottom of the PL2 Second Division table with victory over the Londoners who are just one place and two points above Burnley.
The Clarets – who then travel to face Norwich City on Friday – go into the game (KO 2pm) on the back of an impressive 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last time out a fortnight ago when an injury-time goal from Joel Mumbongo earned Stone’s men a point.
Fulham – coached by ex-Cottagers and Wales midfielder Mark Pembridge – have lost their last five league games after opening the campaign with back-to-back wins.
But they went close to stopping the rot and gained further experience with an EFL Cup tie at Burton Albion in their last game which ended in a 1-1 draw before the Brewers secured victory in a penalty shoot-out.
The Clarets are still missing midfielder Mace Goodridge as he completes a three-match ban but French midfield man Anthony Gomez Mancini may be back.
Today’s Under-23 game will be screened live and available to Clarets+ subscribers.
