In the first of two games this week, Burnley U21s take on Swansea City in the Professional Development League on Tuesday afternoon.
The game comes on the back of Friday’s defeat to Barnsley, in which manager Andy Farrell was forced to heavily rotate his pack.
There were 10 changes from the game against Stockport County just two days prior and Farrell named a mixture of trialists, U18s and players that haven’t been afforded a lot of game time lately.
Burnley are currently 7th in the 11-team North section of the table with 38 points from 25 matches.
Swansea are faring slightly better in the South section of the table, where their points tally of 45 from 26 matches leaves them 3rd behind Millwall and Queens Park Rangers.
Led by Anthony Wright, the young Swans have won their last four league matches and come into this one on the back of a 3-1 victory over Bristol City on Saturday.
A Kyrell Wilson brace was followed by a further strike from Charlie Veevers at the Swansea.com Stadium. Because of the league format, this is the first and only time these two teams will meet this season.
Supporters are welcome to attend the game at Swansea’s Landore Training Centre free of charge on Tuesday, with kick-off at 1pm.
