Burnley U21s conclude their Premier League Cup Group F campaign with a trip to Stalybridge to take on Stockport County on Tuesday night.

The young Clarets are already guaranteed to finish top of the group having claimed 12 points from a possible 15 thus far, while Stockport can only finish bottom.

It will be a relatively quick turnaround from Andy Farrell’s team’s last match, which saw them travel south to play Arsenal on Friday night.

There was just a single goal between the two teams on the night, with Brando Bailey-Joseph netting 90 minutes from time to ensure all three points would stay in Borehamwood.

This will be the third time that these two teams have attempted to play this game, with the previous two occasions being postponed because of the winter weather.

Burnley’s last Premier League Cup outing came away at Queens Park Rangers in the final match before Christmas, when Jaydon Banel’s penalty won the tie.

Stockport County are unable to progress to the knockout stages, having lost all four of their matches in this competition to date.

The Hatters operate a category three academy but will take heart from the fact that they also won their last outing before the Christmas break.

That was against Cardiff City in this competition, and it was 16-year-old local lad Joe Astles’ two goals that won the tie.

The Clarets came out on top when these two teams met in the reverse fixture back in October, with Charlie Veevers and Jack McEvilly’s goals earning a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Stockport hit back through Collins Nino and Ryan Maher, but a stoppage-time own goal spared Burnley’s blushes.

Tuesday night’s match will be played at Stalybridge Celtic’s Bowerfold Stadium (SK15 2RT), and kick-off is 7pm.

Supporters are required to purchase tickets online, with no cash turnstiles in operation on the evening. Adults are £2, with those aged 17 and under able to gain entry for £1.
