Burnley U21s return from their international break with a trip to Solihull Moors in the National League Cup on Tuesday night.
The young Clarets have work to do towards their goal of progressing from Group A to the knockout stages, following an opening match defeat to Rochdale in August.
The National League side took the lead through experienced professional Iain Henderson before Kian McMahon-Brown, who is 23 years Henderson’s junior, levelled the scoring.
Rochdale re-grouped to earn all three points thanks to Levi Amantchi’s well-placed header, with Burnley taking lessons from a sweltering day in Greater Manchester.
Andy Farrell’s team headed into the international break on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Leeds United in Premier League 2.
Louie Dudley’s header put the Whites a goal up at Turf Moor, but Murray Campbell used the same part of his body to restore parity on the stroke of half-time.
Leeds weren’t to be denied, though, and England youth international Harry Gray’s cute finish decided the match with just over 25 minutes remaining.

Solihull Moors suffered the same fate as our young Clarets in their opening National League Cup opener, losing 2-1 to Everton U21s.
The Midlanders took an early lead through Fin Holmes but the Toffees’ quality eventually shone through, with Northern Ireland U19s midfielder Braiden Graham’s brace deciding the tie.
Solihull head into this game on the back of an entertaining 4-4 draw with Morecambe, who fielded Burnley youngster Tom Tweedy, at the weekend.
The Moors took the lead twice but were also pegged back twice, with Jacob Wakeling scoring a brace alongside further strikes from Jamey Osborne and Bradley Nicholson.
Solihull were managed by a familiar name to Clarets fans in Matt Taylor up until two weeks ago, but the 43-year-old was relieved of his duties after a winless start to the season. Former Northern Ireland international James Quinn is currently in caretaker charge.
Tuesday’s match is a 7pm kick-off at Damson Park (B92 9EJ), and entry is free for all. All supporters need to claim their complimentary ticket in advance HERE.
