Our U21s turn their attention to Premier League Cup action on Monday night, with West Bromwich Albion visiting Turf Moor.

It’s set to be a fantastic occasion under the lights for the young Clarets, and you can be there to get behind them in their bid to reach the final of this year’s Premier League Cup.

Other adults are £5, while concessions are £2.

Andy Farrell’s team’s Premier League Cup journey started in Group F alongside Queens Park Rangers, Cardiff City and Stockport County.

A successful run saw them finish top of that quartet with 12 points from a possible 18, scoring 11 goals in the process.

Then came a 3-2 victory at home to Brentford at the last 16 stage, before Colchester United were swept aside in the quarter finals.

It finished 5-2 in Leyland that night, with U17 striker Destiny Okonkwo scoring a hat-trick alongside strikes from Vernon Masara and Ellis Clark.

Farrell and his players were beaten by Queens Park Rangers in the semi-finals last season, so will be aiming to go one better here.

Like ourselves, West Bromwich Albion operate a category one Academy and compete in Premier League 2.

The Baggies have enjoyed a similarly productive Premier League Cup run to date, progressing from Group E with 13 points.

After a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers in the first knockout round, the Midlanders booked their place in the last four with a thrilling 5-4 victory at AFC Bournemouth.

Albion found themselves 2-0 down but were level before half-time thanks to George Shaw and Eseosa Sule.

Sule later went on to complete his hat-trick, with defender Noah DuPont also on target for the Midlanders at Vitality Stadium.

Deon Burton, an experienced player with more than 600 professional appearances under his belt, has overseen West Bromwich Albion’s U21s since July 2020.
