Burnley U21s are back on home soil on Friday night, with Tottenham Hotspur visiting Lancashire in Premier League 2.

The young Clarets will be aiming to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Manchester City last time out.

Andy Farrell’s side were beaten 8-1 at the Joie Stadium, with Vernon Masara scoring our goal after good work from Brandon Pouani.

Reigan Heskey and Justin Oboavwoduo both scored braces on the night, with Ashton Muir, Mamadou Sangare, Matty Warhurst, and Christian Dunbar-McDonald all netting too.

After 10 Premier League 2 matches the Clarets have six points to their name, putting them 27th in the 29-team standings.

Tottenham Hotspur are 8th with five wins and a draw from their nine outings to date.

The Lilywhites haven’t had a competitive game since Saturday 8th November, though, when they drew 1-1 with Fulham at their Motspur Park training centre.

Max McFadden salvaged a point in the second half that day and Burnley will take encouragement from the fact that the North Londoners haven’t won any of their last four in all competitions.

Wayne Burnett, who had a playing career with a number of professional clubs, has been in charge of the young Spurs since 2017.

Players to look out for include England youth international Rio Kyerematen, who signed a new deal last summer, and attacking midfielder Luca Williams-Barnett, who scored five goals against Slavia Prague in the UEFA Youth League last month.

Tickets for this 7pm kick-off at the County Ground, Leyland (PR25 2LF) can be purchased on the day, although Burnley season ticket holders can get in for free by showing their season ticket at the turnstiles.

Other adults are priced at £5, while concessions are £2.50.
