Burnley's U21s suffered defeat in the Premier League Cup on Monday night as the Foxes came from behind to beat the Clarets 2-1.
Lewis Richardson opened the scoring in the second half after he replaced Joe Westley in an unexpected injury at Leyland.
Leicester's Silko Thomas found the equaliser soon after for the away side before Logan Briggs closed the scoring as he found the winner for City.
Andy Farrell's squad included five players from Burnley's U18's side including Joe Ashton and Adam McCoy in the starting XI. Lucas Wane made an appearance after the break, additionally Brandon Ly and Murray Campbell were involved in the squad.

First Half
It was a tense first twenty minutes with both teams struggling to find a breakthrough, but it was Leicester City that had the first chance as Kian Pennant travelled down the pitch past Joe Ashton, and took a strike on target but Denis Franchi did well to guard the home sides goal.
Tom Tweedy broke through the foxes’ defence and found Westley in an open space in the box, he took one touch and made a precise shot heading towards the back of the net, but Arlo Doherty did well to make the catch.
Thomas followed with his first chance of the evening, when he made a run down the wing and fizzed the ball towards goal, however Franchi intercepted and used his skilled footwork to move the ball away from danger.
Moments before the break, Westley picked up a leg injury from the intensity of the game, Richardson replaced the forward, and both sides remained goalless at the break.

Second Half
Burnley came out on the front foot as they placed immediate pressure on Leicester's defence, which was shown when Richardson bagged the opener in the 55th minute. Tweedy spotted Richardson in the box where he made the assist, then Richardson flicked the ball straight through the goal leaving Doherty no chance.
Leicester attempted to counter-attack when Pennant caused chaos in the area as he dribbled through Logan Pye and Ashton, he fired the ball towards the top of the net but Franchi managed to tip the ball over the cross bar.
Thomas found the equaliser soon after, when Pennant utilized the wing and found himself one on one with Franchi, he took a strike which the Clarets' keeper did well to block, but Thomas was there for the rebound and slotted the ball straight into the back of the net.
Logan Briggs was next to be added onto the scoresheet, when he sprinted down the line and managed to escape Dan Sassi, then directed the ball into the bottom corner leaving Franchi behind.
