Friday afternoon saw Burnley U21s secure three points against Coventry City at the Alan Higgs Centre in the Professional Development League.
Goals from Renaldo Torraj, Joe Bevan and Tom Tweedy gave the Clarets an impressive lead going into the halftime break before Vernon Masara closed the scoring and sealed a 4-0 victory in the second half.
Despite the team going down to ten men in the closing stages of the game, manager Andy Farrell was pleased with his players' performance and hopes this result will give them a confidence boost going forward.
The Clarets started on the front foot despite facing heavy rain and strong winds in the Midlands. Tommy McDermott was desperately unlucky when his effort skimmed over the bar, but the early chance set the tone for the rest of the game.
Burnley opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Torraj, who took one touch from a McDermott cross and fired the ball straight into the bottom corner.
The Sky Blues took no time to react as Bradley Stretton unleashed a powerful strike from a free-kick just outside the box, but the ball smacked the bar.
Burnley's momentum continued as goalkeeper Sam Waller sent a brilliant long ball out to Bevan, who used his strength to shrug off David Mantle and double the visitors' advantage.
It was 3-0 shortly before the break as Tweedy weaved his way through the area and produced a venomous low strike, giving Luke Bell no chance in the Coventry goal.
The second half started in a similar vein to which the first ended and Tweedy linked up with Masara on the right-hand side. The 16-year-old tapped home to make it 4-0 with 52 minutes on the clock.
The Clarets faced their first real problem with 20 minutes to go when Bradley Grant received a second yellow card and was dismissed, leaving Burnley with 10 men.
Waller was subsequently called into action to make two big saves in succession. Conrad Ambursley firstly saw his low strike denied by the 20- year-old, before the 'keeper did well again to block Stretton's chipped effort.
Although Coventry City attempted to counter-attack and get themselves on the scoresheet, Burnley did well to reshape and earn an emphatic victory.
The result leaves Burnley 6th in the PDL North table ahead of a busy run in, with several games in hand on many of the teams around them.
Andy Farrell's are next in action on Monday afternoon, travelling to the Mornflake Stadium to take on Crewe Alexandra. Kick-off is 1pm.
