Clarets take on Bluebirds in LFA Senior Cup Final

Burnley FC’s U21s side will complete last season’s LFA Senior Cup campaign, with a final against Barrow AFC at the Lancashire FA County Ground tonight (Tuesday 29th August, 7:45pm KO).

The Clarets have so far beaten Blackpool, 3-1 in the quarter-finals with goals from Jez Davies, Joe Westley and Renaldo Torraj seeing them through into the next round, where they would meet Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers.

Westley struck again and Seb Thompson and Deji Sotona were also on the scoresheet as Burnley cruised to a 3-0 victory in that game at the Burnley Training Centre.

On their run to the final, today’s opponents played an extra game than the Clarets, as they entered the competition in the first round, and recorded a 3-0 victory at Fleetwood Town.

The Bluebirds then recorded a 3-0 victory over Everton before beating Accrington Stanley away from home to seal their place in the final two.

Ahead of this game, the Clarets drew 2-2 with Cardiff City on Saturday – 26th August – as a Trialist and Tom Tweedy saw their goals cancelled out by Cody Twose and Joel Colwill, with the latter netting with the last kick of the game.

Barrow, who played with a senior side in the semi-finals of this competition, drew 1-1 with Wrexham in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday, with Emile Acquah cancelling out Elliott Lee’s goal, to leave them sat 9th in the table.

Tuesday’s match will be ticket only, with tickets available to purchase here, and prices as follows:

Adults - £8

Concessions - £4
