Burnley U18's side hosted Birmingham City in the Professional Development League Cup at the Burnley Training Centre Saturday afternoon, with the final result ending 1-0.
Vernon Masara opened the scoring in the 56th minute, which secured the home side's victory against top of the league Blues.
Tony Philliskirk's side included Jack McEvilly, Murray Campbell, Callum West and Masra who have recently been competing in the U21s side. Additionally, Rohan Vaughan made his appearance after last-season's injury.

First Half
The first ten minutes was tight as both teams were fighting for possession and struggled to find the back of the net.
Lucas Wane had the first chance at goal as he utilised the wing and stormed past Bryon Pendleton. He squared the ball to Benji Wetshi but his powerful strike was blocked by Blues' keeper Olly Sayer.
Clarets' Lewis Forshaw made a remarkable save when Alvaro Ruiz Rente hammered a shot on target and he continued his momentum through the rest of the half as Cameron Eubank tried his luck soon after.
New Burnley signing Brandon Ly had an attempt on goal when he looped the ball over Blues' defender Zach Willis, however Sayer was able to make the reach and move the it away from danger.

Second Half
Burnley came out on the front foot after the break as Zach Johnson nearly found the back of the net, Joe Ashton assisted an overhead ball towards Johnson near the far post but as he hit the rebound the ball moved slightly wide out of play.
Clarets' forward Masara replaced Wane, within three minutes of him playing he left behind Taylor Dodd and lifted the ball at the edge of the box, which flew past Sayer and found the back of the net.
Ashton showed his defensive strength as Bria Bateman attempted to find the equaliser however, his shot on target was denied as Ashton made the impressive block.
The last chance from the Clarets came when Ly fizzed the ball towards Vaughan, which he attempted to squeeze in between Sayer and the far post, but it moved swiftly wide out of play.
Birmingham City quickly reacted when Frank Tattum hammered the ball towards goal, but Forshaw was able to make the dive and secured the clean sheet for the Saturday afternoon game.
