Burnley FC U18's side played out a draw with Sheffield United at the Burnley Training Centre in the Professional Development League North, with the game ending in 1-1 this afternoon.
Goals from both sides were penalties. Lucas Wane opened the scoring in the 76th minute, then Francis Marshall found an equaliser with 2 minutes to spare within the 90 minutes.
Tony Philliskirk's side included three U16 players in the starting eleven, with an additional three on the bench.
First Half
The Clarets started off on the front foot, as they kept possession throughout. Benji Wetshi had the first chance of the game as he took a shot on target but Ryan Andrews did well to secure the ball and move it out of danger.
Wane tried his luck as he left Blades' defender Zain Tahir behind, he stormed down the wing and fired the ball towards the back of the net, however Andrews was able to get a reach and tipped the ball past the far post.
Kian McMahon-Brown showed his strength as he linked up with Oli Pimlott sending the ball into the box, where Pimlott was able to take control and took a shot at goal but the ball swiftly moved wide out of play.

Zac Johnson had the final opportunity in the first half, as Wane set him up near the far post where Johnson was able to lift the ball from a tight angle, but it landed into the palms Blades' keeper Andrews.
Second Half
Sam Ashton nearly opened the scoring for the away side, as he curled a free-kick towards goal but Jon Vilar Robinson made a fantastic save as he dived the correct direction.
A penalty to the Clarets was awarded when Mekhi Haughton-Parris made heavy contact on Wane in the box. He found the opener as he stepped up to the penalty spot and hammered the ball straight down the middle, leaving the Blades' keeper no chance to save.
Despite Sheffield United's captain Jaden Prunty picking up an injury and leaving the away side down to 10 men, Pimlott fouled Seth Okyere and there were questions of a handball by Luca Jackson. This resulted in a penalty to the Blades, with Marshall finding the back of the net as he placed the ball into the bottom right corner.
