Burnley's U18s were on the losing side against top-of-the-league Birmingham City at the Burnley Training Centre on Saturday in the Professional Development League action as the game ended 3-2 in favour of the visitors.
Benji Wetshi opened the scoring for the Clarets before Frank Tattum and Ellis O'Shea put the Blues back in front before the break. Tattum added his second of the game in the second half before Vernon Masara bagged a goal through a penalty.
Tony Philliskirk's side were brought down to nine men as Luca Jackson and Jack McEvilly were both shown a red card with 12 minutes left of the full 90 minutes.

First Half
The Clarets began the game on the front foot and were ahead within eight minutes, as Lucas Wane played an accurate short ball to Wetshi inside the area, the striker flicked the ball straight into the top corner over the Blues' keeper.
The visitors reacted quickly as Tattum made an outstanding run down the wing and skilled around Jon Vilar Robinson where he finished by tapping the ball into the back of the net.
Birmingham City got their second soon after when O'Shea quickly weaved his way into the box and hammered the ball into the bottom corner, which put the visitors ahead.
Burnley almost found the leveller through Callum West's powerful free-kick as it fell in front of Jackson, but his effort skimmed above the crossbar.

Second Half
In contrast to the first half, the Blues took no time to waste as Tattum found himself doubling the lead through a low strike at goal.
In the area, Blues defender Taylor Dodd clashed with the legs of Masara which resulted in a penalty. Masara took a calm approach and fired the ball into the bottom corner leaving O'Sullivan no chance.
As tensions rose with the Clarets hoping to find an equaliser, Jackson found himself in a collision with Tattum whilst defending and he was shown a straight red card.
Just four minutes later Burnley was brought to nine men, as McEvilly was sent off the pitch due to a mismatch with Blues' striker Tattum again.
The Clarets did well to regroup and defend the Blues' attacking set pieces but the final whistle blew with a result of 2-3.
