Burnley U18s hosted Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon in the Professional Development League, with the game ending 1-1.
It was Sheffield Wednesday who made an early impact at the Burnley Training Centre, with Jarvis Thornton scoring a remarkable long-range goal less than a minute in.
Burnley's Adam Abbas attempted to equalise soon after, but narrowly missed the target.
Despite Burnley's efforts the Owls continued to pose a threat, particularly through Finley Hunt and Caiden Remy-Dee. However, defenders Ollie Sweeney and Oli Pimlott stood firm to block their attempts.
The momentum shifted when Wednesday's Reece Johnson fouled Abbas in the penalty area, leading to a penalty which captain Callum West calmly converted past Owls 'keeper Jack Phillips and into the bottom left corner.
The teams were level as they headed into the second half, intensifying the match into a physical battle.
Substitute Benji Wetshi wasted no time in making an impact, sprinting down the wing and leaving Carlos Rodriguez trailing behind. However, Phillips was on hand to hold Wetshi's low effort.
Lucas Wane then showcased his technical ability with skilful dribbling, but couldn't quite find the back of the net on this occasion.
The most significant opportunity came when West delivered a precise pass to Wane just inside the box. Wane unleashed a powerful shot but it unfortunately drifted wide of the far post.
Young Clarets 'keeper Lewis Forshaw produced a brilliant save in the final stages to repel Johnson's close-range strike and ensure that the match finished level.
After back-to-back draws Tony Philliskirk's team now sit 4th in the PDL North table. Their next league fixture is against Barnsley on Friday 8th March, where kick-off is 1pm.
Wetshi earns young Clarets a point
