Burnley U18s drew 1-1 with Barnsley on an early summer's Tuesday to extend their Professional Development League unbeaten to run to five matches.
The South Yorkshire outfit took the lead early in the second half before Benji Wetshi clawed the Clarets back into the game in the final quarter.
Tony Philliskirk made changes to the side that started against Cardiff City, with Ollie Sweeney and Noah Adekoya coming into the defence.
Marley Leuluai and Brandon Ly formed a new central midfield and Oli Pimlott started on the left of the three in behind striker Wetshi.
In a fairly even opening 20 minutes Wetshi came closest to opening the scoring, but couldn’t quite get the desired contact on a cross from Trialist A.
Frankie McMahon Brown was then replaced because of an injury which forced a formation change and after Barnsley’s Kallum Reid narrowly missed a top corner, Burnley conceded a penalty.
Goalkeeper Jon Vilar Robinson fouled an attacker but made amends straight away, saving Rafael Monteiro’s spot-kick low to his left.

Burnley’s Adekoya came inches away from scoring in first half stoppage time but it was Monteiro who broke the deadlock after the interval, volleying the ball into the ground and into the top left corner.
Philliskirk then shuffled his pack with Ryan Tioffo and Logan Carlin coming on and the change saw Wetshi move to the left.
The switch reaped its rewards soon after when Zach Johnson picked out Wetshi and the striker burst forwards and won a penalty. After seeing his initial effort saved, Wetshi scored on the rebound.
The game was now becoming end to-end and Trialist C almost put the young Clarets ahead with a header from six yards.
Barnsley’s Luke Alker continued to threaten on the left and Vilar Robinson was forced into a flying save in second-half stoppage time as the young Clarets earned another league point.
The U18s stay 4th in the North section of the Professional Development League table with two matches to play, starting with a trip to Peterborough United on Saturday 4th May.
