Adam McCoy's strike saw Tony Philliskirk's youth team into a 1-0 victory against Peterborough United in the U18 Professional Development League North.
Lucas Wane almost found the opener as McCoy crossed the ball towards him, however the ball drifted wide missing the goal.
Moments after, Tornin Ntege had a chance at goal as Max Breech links him at the edge of the box but Jon Vilar Robinson comfortably moved the ball out of danger.
Adam McCoy was added onto the scoresheet seconds before the break as Zac Johnson crossed the ball towards his feet before he fired the ball into the top right corner.
Benji Wetshi had the last opportunity to double the Clarets score as Oli Pimlott played into Wetshi who took a shot on target but landed into the hands of West.
First Half
The game got off to an even start, but Wane got the first attempt as McCoy sent the ball across the pitch, but as Wane took a strike the ball swiftly moved wide out of play.
Young Clarets secure their first victory of 2024
The Posh had their first effort of the afternoon when Breech found Ntege in the box who attempted to square the ball in-between the keeper and the far post but the ball Vilar Robinson did well to keep the strike out.
The Clarets dominated possession soon after with Jack McEvilly being a great threat as he sent balls down the line towards Callum West to find a finish for the home side.
Jack Rogers linked up with Vernon Masara as he continued to place pressure on Luke Gilbert however Masara was unable to get the ball past West.
Moments before the break Burnley found the opener, Johnson fizzed the ball across the box to find McCoy where he hammered the ball into the top right corner leaving West the wrong direction.
Second Half
The Clarets resumed the game on the front foot, with McEvilly connecting with Wane to place pressure on the Posh defence but both were unable to find the back of the net.
Philliskirk made his first substitute of the afternoon when Benji Wetshi replaced Masara, Wetshi immediately made a statement when he took a shot on target but was hit out by Posh keeper' Wane.
West utilized the wing as he ran into the box as he left Harley Mills behind, but his shot was deflected by Gilbert before it was able to reach the back of the net.
The Posh pushed for their final chance to find an equaliser in added time as Ntege tried to find an open space in the box but was unable to loose Clarets defence Jack Rogers and Logan Carlin.
Burnley continued to find another opportunity to double their lead in additional time however unable to finish, but the side walked away with three points at the Barnfield Training Centre.
