Tony Philliskirk's side fell to a 2-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon, against Manchester City, as the blue side of Manchester close in on the U18 Premier League title.
Goals from Oscar Bobb and Carlos Burges in each half was enough to move City within two points of league leaders Manchester United, on a sunny afternoon in Manchester.
It was a very young Burnley side, with just one-second year scholar in the squad and two U15s involved in Joe Bauress, who started and substitute Ryan Tiofo.
City started on the front foot, enjoying plenty of the ball and got their deserved opener with just 10 minutes played.
As winger Bobb cut inside, before breaking into the box and curling the ball home past Sam Waller to give the home side the lead.

And despite the home side were dominating possesion, as the Clarets looked to get a real foot in the game, chances were minimal for both sides in the first-half.
But just before the break the visitors were given a boost, as City's Tai Sodje was shown a straight red card for a challnege on Keelan Williams, just 10 minutes after Joe Smyth-Ferguson was forced off through injury.
The hosts headed into the break with the lead, but with a man down, the Clarets looked to make it count early in the second-half.
A corner fell nicely to defender Dan Sassi at the back-post, but the former Stoke youngster could only head just over the bar, as Philliskirk's side pushed for an equaliser.

But it was City who struck again, with 20 minutes left, as Burges broke through on goal one-on-one with Waller, before slotting coolly into the bottom corner.
Despite the Clarets' best efforts at pushing for a goal against 10-men city, the hosts stood strong to secure all three points at the Etihad Academy base.
Philliskirk's side are next in action on Tuesday afternoon, where the youngsters travel to Middlesbrough.
