Burnley FC’s U18s side lost out in their first home game of the Professional Development League season, with the game ending 4-1 in Millwall’s favour at the Burnley Training Centre
Kawali Heywood gave the Lions the lead from the penalty spot in the 28th minute before Frankie Baker made it two a minute later.
Jack Howland then added a third before the break and Heywood netted his second and Millwall’s fourth in the second half.
Callum West pulled a goal back with four minutes to go but that only proved to be a consolation as the Young Clarets fell to defeat.
Tony Philliskirk made four changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Charlton Athletic last Saturday – 12th August – as Logan Carlin, Luca Jackson, Marley Leuluai and Adam McCoy came in for Ollie Sweeney, Ben Jordison, Noah Adekoya and Dylan Sime respectively, with Sime making the bench.

First Half
Millwall started the game the quicker with Baker scooping a shot over the top in the opening minute, but Burnley had chances themselves in the early stages as Sonny Pickup was twice denied by Jakub Przewuzny from the edge of the area and Lucas Wane curling a strike wide of the post.
The Clarets found themselves behind just before the half hour mark however, as Lucas Wane was adjudged to have fouled a Millwall player in the box, and Heywood slotted his penalty into the bottom corner, sending Jon Ander Vilar Robinson the wrong way.
It was two only a minute later as Baker twisted and turned through the Burnley defence after they failed to clear a cross into the box, and he curled into the far corner.
Howland added a third before the break, as he was slotted in behind and placed the ball under Vilar Robinson.
Second Half
An improvement was needed from the Clarets in the second half, and in a quiet 45 minutes, the first real chance came for the visitors through Howland who curled a free kick over from distance.

Millwall then broke forward following a Burnley corner and Heywood nicked the ball ahead of Vilar Robinson and placed the ball into the empty net.
West was slotted through on goal by substitute Dylan Sime and finished well into the bottom corner but that wasn’t enough to get the Clarets back into the game as they fell to defeat.
Philliskirk’s side are back in action next Saturday – 26th August – as they travel to Bristol City in the Professional Development League, with that game due to kick off at 11am.
