Scott Twine admits there's a 'buzz about the place' as the Clarets prepare for an Emirates FA Cup fifth round tie with Fleetwood Town at Turf Moor.
Burnley have their eyes set on a potential quarter-final place in the competition but the 23-year-old insists the side will treat it like every other game.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Twine praised the current mood in camp leading up to the game and his own impressive personal record in the past against Town.
“I think it’s exciting, there’s a buzz about the place, you can see that everyday in training. All the lads are loving it and we’re working hard to make sure that continues.”
“We’ll treat it like every other game we’ve played this season. We’ve gone into a lot of detail with every game with Vinny and the clips before the games. We’ll do that again today and tomorrow to get ready for Wednesday and hopefully win.”
“I didn’t know Burnley had never played them before, but I scored a hat-trick last season so good memories against them.”
“I think I scored two the year before too against them so it’d be nice for that to happen again - we’ll see.”
“But we're back at home again, we’ve been good there this season, we’ve loved playing there so hopefully on Wednesday we’ll give another good performance and get through to the next round."
Twine endured a difficult start to his Burnley career, after making his debut against Huddersfield Town on the opening day of the season the attacker then made his next appearance in December following a lengthy injury.
The Swindon-born forward is delighted to have returned back to the team and put behind the frustrating first half of the season.
“I think at the start it was really frustrating. I got off to a good start in pre-season and the injury setback, it did leave me frustrated.
"It went on longer than I thought it would and I think when I came back I’d missed so much of the work the lads do everyday in training and little things like off the ball stuff, where to be and in the right positions.
"I feel like now I’ve learnt so much in the last few months being on the training pitch and now I feel like I’m more ready than I was a few months ago to play.”
