Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the signings of Mikey O’Neill, Tommy McDermott and Michael Parker.
O’Neill (pictured right) joins from Preston North End for an undisclosed fee, signing a short-term contract until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old striker made his senior debut for North End in April 2022, coming on as a substitute against Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship. O’Neill made eight senior appearances for the Lilywhites in total, six of which came in the league.
He has spent time on trial with the Clarets and scored two first-half goals in last week’s 4-1 victory over Everton in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup.

McDermott (pictured left) arrives in Lancashire for an undisclosed fee from Port Vale, where he come through the Academy system and was handed his first team debut on the opening day of the 2022/23 campaign.
An attacking midfielder, the 18-year-old notched six goals and 11 assists for the Valiants’ U18s in 2021/22 and has had loan spells at Rochdale and Curzon Ashton this campaign.
McDermott has penned an 18-month contract with the Clarets, running until the summer of 2025.

The third addition to the squad is Michael Parker (pictured centre), who joins on a free transfer. Born in London, the 19-year-old joined Huddersfield Town as a first-year scholar in 2021.
Parker later transferred to Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2023, but the left-back now moves to Lancashire having signed a contract until the end of the 2023/24 season.

On the additions, Burnley’s Academy Manager David Longwell said: “These are three good additions to our U21s squad, and it’s pleasing to be able to get them all over the line as they will add to the group.
“Mikey has impressed us with his goalscoring potential and positional adaptability, while Tommy is a youngster who has shown positive signs as a central midfielder.
“I know Michael from a previous club and his athleticism and physicality, which allow him to get up and down the pitch, are both really positive attributes. He has come into the Academy system late, so has a lot of room to grow.
“All three have a good attitude and I look forward to seeing them develop within our system.”
O’Neill, McDermott and Parker are all eligible to take part in Burnley U21s’ Professional Development League match against Birmingham City on Friday 2nd February.
Kick-off at the County Ground in Leyland is 1pm.
