Burnley Football Club can today confirm the signing of centre back Jack Turner from Barking FC.
Signing a one-year professional deal with the Clarets, Essex-born Turner had captained the Blues at youth level including against Southend United in the FA Youth Cup last term.
Standing at 6 feet 6 inches, the 18-year-old has also previously spent time with Stoke City, and appeared as a Trialist for the U21s in their draw at Crewe Alexandra on Monday afternoon, earning a clean sheet in the process.
Now having officially joined the Club, Turner said: “I’m delighted to be signing for a big Club like Burnley, one which has fantastic facilities and staff to help me develop.
“Having got to know all of the lads around the place over the last couple of weeks, I’m looking forward to working hard now, and improving every day.”
Turner could next be in action on Monday – October 3 – when the U21s take on Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium (13:00 KO).
