Whether it be on the pitch, or off the pitch, Burnley Football Club are always keen to discover the next generation of talent, as we believe every goal starts with you.

Following three successful years, we are delighted to launch The Hive for the 2025/26 season, a Club initiative that aims to offer those looking to start a career in the sports industry the chance to learn more about a wide range of areas, from business operations to community initiatives to supporting our players on and off the pitch.

This year, we are introducing a transformative shift: for the first time ever, The Hive will offer a balanced focus on both business and football operations - a dual approach designed to prepare you for success on and off the pitch.

Candidates can apply to join The Hive and successful Hivers will gain valuable insight into the running of the football club, receive advice from Club employees covering a broad skillset of roles, benefit from networking opportunities and receive invitations to Club events.

At Burnley Football Club, we are committed to informing the next generation of leaders about the benefits of a career in sport. The Club is an incredibly exciting place to progress a career, with a diverse set of roles and activities on offer. No two days are ever the same!

It’s our intention that through The Hive, we engage a diverse group of the most enthusiastic people, with a keen interest in the industry and us. We want to invest time in helping you to understand the opportunities in this sector via a real and beneficial introduction to a business evolving both on and off the pitch. We commit to giving Hivers a rounded, unique experience that will leave you better informed and we hope, enthusiastic about us and the industry.

Schedule

The Hive scheme will run from November 2025 to June 2026 and will involve:

· A kick-off day plus a minimum of 2 other insight days at Turf Moor or the Training Ground, with insight of-fered into the world of football, networking with scheme members and Burnley FC staff.

· Opportunity to watch a men’s/women’s First Team or Academy game.

· Monthly insight talks, in which Burnley FC or industry leaders speak about their experiences in the industry and offer advice.

· Mentorship scheme, where members are paired up with a Burnley FC staff member working in a particular area of interest. Hivers are given the opportunity to shadow the staff member in person or via active participation in meetings online.

· Group supervision of a piece of thinking around a key emerging topic in sport and completion of a project e.g., around sustainability, new media, fan engagement.

· Invitations to further events at Turf Moor or additional locations.

Eligibility

This is an entry level programme; we are looking for candidates who are keen to gain experience and understanding of the sports industry.

· We welcome applications from those looking to start a career in sport.

· Candidates must be available to travel to Burnley, 3 to 4 times per year.

Criteria

Burnley FC are looking for people who possess the following attributes:

· A fit with the qualities we feel make a successful Burnley FC employee; drive, a growth mindset, flexibility, a communicator, collaborative, and committed.

· A genuine interest in sport and the football industry.

· A desire both before and during the programme to improve the experience of your fellow scheme members.
