Forward hails squad togetherness as Clarets head to Carrow Road this weekend

Nathan Tella had plenty of praise for his fellow teammates looking ahead to this weekend's trip to Norwich City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Burnley head into this Saturday's lunchtime clash with the Canaries off the back of eight straight wins in the league and Tella is hoping the Clarets can extend that impressive run this weekend.

Speaking to the media on Thursday afternoon, the winger discussed the togetherness and morale within the squad and the importance that everyone in the group has a part to play.

Tella explained: "It's good, it's a great feeling. As a team, anyone in sport wants to win and there is a lot of competition in the squad driving each other on every day.

"Day by day, in training and in games everyone is pushing each other and it's great to see it backed up with good results.

"There's a real togetherness within the squad, there is no pressure on anyone to score all the goals in the team and I think that's a great attribute to have.

"No matter who is starting, who is on the bench, where we're playing, everyone in this team that can contribute and more than capable to pop up with a goal."

The forward added: "We saw the other week when Twiney (Scott Twine) came on and stepped up to score the winning free-kick, there is so much talent in this group and it's spread across the board.

"Hopefully we can continue it this weekend with whoever the starting XI is at Norwich."

Tella's long-time friend and former Southampton teammate Michael Obafemi became the Clarets' fourth signing of the January transfer window last weekend

The 23-year-old is looking forward to reuniting with Obafemi and believes he is a great addition to the squad heading into the second half of the season.

"He's a great addition to the team for us. He adds something different to the attack, off the ball he works hard and likes to link up play too.

"I feel like he's settled in quite well, obviously he knows me and Josh (Cullen) already, but he knows he is here to play football and ultimately that is what he will get judged on.

"He's worked hard since he got here, he's focussing and hoping that he can get the opportunity to play and show the fans what he's about."
