Full-back Charlie Taylor is looking forward to returning to Elland Road this weekend, after spending eight years in West Yorkshire as a youngster.

The York-born defender was an academy graduate at United and made 104 appearances for the Whites during his time there, with loan spells at Bradford City, York City, Inverness and Fleetwood Town.

And although Taylor is looking forward to Sunday, three points is all that's on the left-back's mind.

The 28-year old said: “For me personally, being a local lad and Leeds being the team that I came through, it’s probably one of their first fixtures I look out for.

“I’ve never been back to Elland Road since leaving with fans in, I’m looking forward to it and I’m sure Woody (Chris Wood) and Azza (Aaron Lennon) are too.

“It was a good performance in the reverse fixture, we held the lead for a long time and to concede so late was really disappointing for us.

“But there was a lot of positives to take from that and hopefully things can be different on Sunday and we can go on to take the win.

Despite plenty of encouraging and impressive performances this campaign, the Clarets currently sit 18th in the Premier League table, five points behind Leeds with two games in hand over the Whites, who lay in 16th position.

And a win on Sunday could see Sean Dyche's men close that gap and move out of the bottom three, above 17th placed Watford.

“It’s been a similar story all season really, the performances have been good and consistent, it’s just been the results, turning a few of the draws into wins.

“We’re not far away at all and we've been down this road before. But, there’s a few games in hand over teams around us, and plenty of games left to play.

“So, we’ll be looking to get a result on Sunday at Elland Road and start climbing up the table and getting points on the board" said Taylor.
