Charlie Taylor admits he’s missing the fans as the Clarets look to bridge the gap against Tottenham tonight.
Burnley host Spurs in another behind-closed-doors fixture as Covid-19 restrictions remain in place.
And it’s more than seven months since supporters were allowed into Turf Moor for the last time to see the Clarets draw 1-1 with Tottenham on 7 March.
“It seems a lifetime ago now,” said Taylor.
“You take for granted the fans being there every week. Not just me, but everyone. We miss them and we’d love the fans to be back as soon as possible.
“It’s something everyone misses hugely. Hopefully, fans being back isn’t too far away and hopefully that can happen.”

At the start of the season, the Clarets had hoped the visit of Spurs would signal the start of a phased return of supporters before an increase in coronavirus cases prompted the Government to put the brakes on the Premier League’s plans.
Talks are on-going, but for now it’s business as ‘normal’ with only a television audience to watch as the Clarets look for their first Premier League win of the season.
Tottenham are unbeaten since the opening day, but they haven’t had it easy on their recent visits to Turf Moor.
The fans at the last game saw a Burnley side unlucky not to repeat their home win of 12 months earlier from a dominant performance.
And having ended a run of three defeats to start the new season with a goalless draw at West Bromwich Albion last Monday night, Taylor believes the Clarets are back on track and looking to kick on in the first of successive home games against Spurs and then London rivals Chelsea.

“A point is a good start,” added the Clarets’ defender, who is set to start the 200th league game of huis career.
“In a perfect world we would have liked three, but it’s got us on the board now and it’s something to build on.
“I think if any team was going to win it, it looked like us. We definitely had the better chances and on another day we could have come away with all three points.
“The biggest thing, though, is the clean sheet. It’s got us a lot of confidence and there were a lot of positives.
“It hasn’t been a great start, but I think a point is a step in the right direction and gives us some confidence to take forward.
“Tottenham are a top-class team with world-class players. We know what they’re about and it’s going to be tough.
“But there’s no reason why we can’t get something out of the game. We’ve done well against Spurs here and hopefully we can continue that.”
