Burnley return to Premier League action this weekend, as Scott Parker's men travel to Bournemouth to face the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium.

Prior to the clash, Clarets winger Jaidon Anthony spoke to the media, where the former Bournemouth man discussed recent results and about returning to the South coast for the first time since departing permanently in the summer.

RECENT FORM

“It’s been a tough few weeks to be honest. We have come really close in some games and should have got more points than we have, but we also know we can’t keep saying that and need to actually get them.

“We’ve been playing really well in periods, creating chances, causing teams a lot of problems and obviously scoring goals too, but it’s not been enough and the results now need to turn.

“We have full belief in the manager and the way he sets us up, we have been competing in a lot of games this season, a lot of goals we have conceded have been down to our own doing and something the manager couldn’t affect really.

“Last week it was set-piece goals, Crystal Palace I switched off at the back-post and they score, there’s little things as players we need to fix up on and we are fully aware of that.”

KEEPING BELIEF

“Training is good, the lads are really grating hard, everyone is putting it in every day and it’s certainly through no lack of trying.

“We just have to keep positive, keep trusting and believing each other and hopefully our luck will turn and we can have something to show for it.

“If you look at the league table, we aren’t miles off and one win can change things quickly, we all know that and we all want to get out of it and this weekend is our next opportunity at doing it.”

CHERRIES RETURN

“I’m really excited, it’s probably the first fixture I looked for in the summer when they came out.

“I spent a good few seasons at Bournemouth, got some friends for life from that club and still a lot of people there that I still speak to.

“I’m looking forward to going back and I think it will be a really good game. I’ve already spoken to a few of the boys there Marcus (Tavernier) and Antoine (Semenyo) and I think they’re excited to have me there too!”

KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON SATURDAY'S OPPONENTS

“I was actually at the game on Monday night, obviously with it being in Manchester, I could go watch them in person before playing them this weekend, which is ideal, as well as watching some of my mates.

“That game sort of summed up what they are about, going toe-to-toe with anyone they play, scoring goals and they can hurt any team on their day.

“They have had a lot of changes in the summer, especially in defence, but they have adapted really well and they play some exciting football.

“I think they have had a few games like that on Monday already this year, it’s always end-to-end and I’m looking forward to playing against that style of play as well."

RESDISCOVERING GOALSCORING FORM

“It’s been a tough couple of weeks, in and out of the team. I started the season really well, but then had a couple of niggles and illnesses, which clawed me back a little bit.

“But I’m keen to find that form again and I have full belief in myself that I can help the team, whether that be goals or assists."
