Bashir Humphreys played a key role in Wednesday night's 2-2 draw with Manchester United at a cold Turf Moor.

Heavily involved in the opener and with a key clearance off the line, Humphreys praised the Clarets supporters for spurring the team on.

FANS PLAYING THEIR PART

“I think in periods of the game we can be really proud of how we played. The crowd were top today, they really helped us in the harder moments, especially towards the end.

“Overall, at this stage that we’re at now, it’s good to take a point here and start building again.”

CONTRIBUTION IN DEFENCE AND ATTACK

“To be honest I wasn’t as bothered about that [being heavily involved in the first goal], it was the one a few minutes later, that I took off the line – as a defender that makes me so happy! But to contribute at the top is good, whether I get the goal, or it’s an own goal, whichever, it’s good.

“I’ll keep that with me forever. I absolutely love playing at home, the reaction of the fans and the energy with the fans.

“Obviously, Maxi did something similar about two or three minutes later. The energy that it gives us, we love defending, we thrive off it. It’s my bread and butter really.”

PUSHING FORWARD TOGETHER

“We're going to need to rely on players bringing out those moments, in attack like Jaidon. Those sort of moments of brilliance. People bringing out their quality, whether that be at the top end or the bottom end of the pitch, that’s what is going to help us.

“I think the more games for us the better at this point as we just want to keep building, keep progressing. We want to be together as a team, so the more games the better, let’s keep on going, let’s keep on pushing.”
