Martin Dúbravka said the Clarets tried to give everything against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on Wednesday evening but a goal by Erling Haaland was enough to see Burnley relegated from the Premier League.
REFLECTING ON RELEGATION
“I’m disappointed. We wanted to stay in the league but unfortunately, we didn’t do it.
“The start of the season was a bit tricky I would say. Playing against top teams, we didn’t pick up the points, and you need the points to stay up.
“We were so close on a few occasions, but we didn’t deliver.
“In today’s performance there were some good bits as well but unfortunately it wasn’t enough.
“There was not much space, but they still created a lot of chances. Unfortunately for us Haaland was clinical in his chance. They have such a good team.
“We tried to give everything tonight; we’re disappointed with the relegation.”
FOUR GAMES TO GO
“We need to give everything; there’s still four games to play. We need to give something to the fans because they support us every week.
“We want to give back to them for the remaining games.”
