By Car
The stadium is easily accessible from both the A19 and A1 via Wessington Way (A1231).
Parking
Parking at the stadium is limited and parking passes are sold out.
On matchdays the following procedure will be in place:
Motor vehicles are prohibited from entering or exiting the stadium car parks 30 minutes before the published kick-off time, car parks reopen after kick-off.
Motor vehicles are prohibited from entering the stadium car parks 30 minutes before the final whistle.
Car Parks are then closed at the final whistle and will reopen 30 minutes after the final whistle.
Police and local authority parking restrictions, including permit schemes, are in place on more than 60 streets surrounding the stadium and are heavily enforced.
Park and Ride: Fans should use the Park and Ride facility on Wessington Way (A1231). This is easily accessible from the A19 and is clearly signposted. Buses will pick up from the permanent bus stops on Sunderland Enterprise Park while pick-up points from the stadium are to the north on Kier Hardie Way.
Buses run every five minutes before the game from 90 minutes prior to kick-off and regularly after the game until all fans have been transported back to their cars.
Park and Walk:** Car parking is available from two sites at the University of Sunderland - the A183 (Chester Road) and St Peter’s. Both are clearly signposted. Follow signs for matchday parking.
City Centre Parking: St Mary’s car park in the city centre is a 5-minute walk to the Stadium of Light. Postcode is SR1 3AH.
Accessible Car Parking
Disabled supporters needing to book or enquire about accessible car parking spaces or wishing to purchase tickets can contact the Ticket Office via email at ticket.office@safc.com. By Bus
Bus numbers 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 15 and 16 all stop nearby. The city’s main bus station, Park Lane Interchange, is within walking distance of the stadium. By Train

The Tyne and Wear Metro serves the stadium via both Stadium of Light and St Peter’s stations. After matches, fans travelling towards South Hylton must board at St Peter’s, while those heading northbound towards Newcastle must use Stadium of Light station. Supporter coaches can park up for drinks and food pre-match at the Grindon Club, Gregory Road, Grindon, SR4 9RX. The club can accommodate 8 travelling coaches and will put on food for fans.
Pubs in the City Centre & Near the Ground
All pubs and restaurants in the city centre are away fan friendly. Recommended pubs in the city centre are Port of Call, Fire Station & The Peacock. Recommended pubs nearer to the stadium are the Colliery Tavern and the Hilton Hotel.

The stewards on Saturday will be Matthew Ragnal, Qasim Nawaiz, Assim Nawaiz and Amir Kauser.
You’ll spot them, as always, in their red jackets with Burnley badges.

Disabled supporters needing to book or enquire about accessible car parking spaces or wishing to purchase tickets can contact the Ticket Office via email at ticket.office@safc.com. Where the need for a personal assistant has been identified, the personal assistant is admitted free of charge. The personal assistant must sit with the disabled supporter and must be aged 18 years and over and fully capable of meeting your needs.
The personal assistant must enter the stadium at the same time as the disabled supporter.
Black Cats Bar Entrance - Lift Access
There are a lot of stairs on entering the stadium to the away end. If you have access needs, please go to the Black Cat Bar entrance where you can use the lift to level 3 to enter the stadium.
Ambulant Supporters
If for any reason, an ambulant supporter feels they have more specific seating requirements (a certain area, block or row) they should contact the club’s Disability Liaison Officer to discuss their individual requirements in more detail. Every effort will be made to accommodate such requests.
Any tickets sold for away matches (including neutral venues) are subject to the terms and conditions of that venue/club.
Should the allocation of disabled tickets that the opposing club provide be sold out, we will offer tickets but cannot guarantee the accessibility of the seat.
Assistance Dogs
Sunderland AFC assist and accommodate those supporters with assistance dogs. They can, however, only accommodate supporters with assistance dogs in the lower tier.
Any supporter wishing to bring an assistance dog to a fixture must contact the Ticket Office in advance of the game, to ensure that appropriate match tickets are allocated and suitable arrangements can be made.
Headsets for the blind or partially sighted
Supporters who are blind or partially sighted can enjoy match commentary via complimentary headsets. These can be booked through the Ticket Office.
Accessible Toilets
Accessible toilets are available in all areas of the stadium; these are fitted with radar locks and keys are available from nearby stewards.
Cashless Stadium & Advanced Search in the Away End
The Stadium of Light is a cashless stadium and only take card payments in the kiosks.
Supporters will be asked to dispose of any coins, vapes or power banks at the turnstiles by the stewards on arrival.
All coins collected will be donated to Burnley FC in the Community.
