Information for supporters travelling to Elland Road

The Clarets are on the road on Friday as they take on Leeds United in the Premier League.

If you have an issue with your ticket or misplace it prior to the game, any duplicate ticket requests must be sent to Leeds United by the Burnley FC box office.

The away ticket office is located adjacent to the away turnstiles (entrance 1 & 2) and opens 90 minutes prior to kick off.

Please ensure that you bring the required ID as you will be unable to obtain your tickets without it.

By Car

Elland Road is located J2 of the M621 Eastbound Exit - Exit the slip road at J2 and at the roundabout, take the third exit which will bring you onto Elland Road and follow signs for matchday parking.

Westbound Exit – Exit the slip road at J2 and at the roundabout, take the first exit which will bring you onto Elland Road and follow signs for matchday parking.

Parking

Leeds City Council currently operate a number of car parks in close proximity to the stadium around Elland Road. The car parking charge is currently £12 per car and payment is by cash only.

Car Park A & B

Located adjacent to McDonalds.

Fullerton Car Park

Located off Elland Road behind the West Stand.

Elland Road Park & Ride Site

Located off Elland Road, enter via Bobby Collins Way opposite the Police Station. The site is situated adjacent to the stadium on the A643, just off junction 2 of the M621 motorway

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available for blue badge holders and issued on a first come first served basis. All car parking around the stadium is managed by Leeds City Council.

Fullerton Car Park

A small number of disabled parking spaces are located in the Fullerton Car Park adjacent to Elland Road.

Car Parks A & B

60 accessible spaces are available in Car Parks A and B. These car parks are accessed via Elland Road.

Lowfields Road

17 accessible spaces are available. Lowfields Road is located adjacent to the East Stand.

Coach Parking

Coach parking is operated by Leeds City Council and they charge.

This parking option is cash only.

Upon arrival at the away coach park on Fullerton Car Park, stewards will direct you through the away access tunnel which leads you directly to the visiting supporters section of the ground where the away turnstiles and away fan zone is situated.

Access to the turnstiles is also available from Elland Road via the main West Stand gates next to the Ticket Office.

Road Closures

Road closures are in place around the stadium. Elland Road is closed 15 minutes prior to the final whistle and remains closed up until at least 1-hour post-match.

Lowfields Road is closed 1 hour prior to kick-off and closed post-match for vehicular movement. No vehicles will be allowed to move until fans have left this area, this could delay you from 30 minutes, up to an hour after the final whistle.

By Train

Leeds train station is located in Leeds City Centre and is approximately a 35-40 minute walk to Elland Road.

By Bus

Here’s how you can get to Elland Road grounds by bus with the Leeds City (Operated by First Bus) matchday special services.

Service R2 operates on most home matchdays from Sovereign Street in Leeds (outside Café Nero) to Elland Road from 90 minutes before the match starts. The ‘What3Words’ location for this pickup location is haven.detect.tall

Service R3 operates from Thornbury Barracks and Pudsey Bus Station to Elland Road 90 minutes before the match starts.

Note: MCards, MetroCards and West Yorkshire Day Rovers are NOT valid on these service

Service Buses from Leeds City Centre:

Along Elland Road, please note that bus stops outside the ground are suspended one hour before and one hour after a home match.

Services 51, 52 (Morley Line) from Corn Exchange stop D on Vicar Lane.

Services 55, 55C from stop City Square stop G on Park Row.

Along Beeston Road (10 mins walk from the Co op, at the top of Wesley Street, Beeston).

Services 65, 75.

Along Ring Road Beeston (15 mins walk from the Drysalters pub).

Services 9, 9A.

Entering the Stadium

Turnstiles will be open 90 minutes before kick-off, and it is advised to arrive as early as possible. Leeds United FC operate a 3-stage queuing procedure to co-ordinate and moderate the flow of supporters to the turnstiles to ensure a safe entry to the stadium.

Pre-Entry ticket checks - When you enter through the blue gate off Elland Road your tickets will be checked.

Body and bag search - Once you are through the gates you and your bags will be searched.

Electronic Ticket Scan - You will then gain entry to the stadium via electronic ticket scan. During this procedure it maybe necessary to temporarily hold supporters for a short time to achieve a safe and steady flow through the turnstiles.

Please note that large numbers of supporters arriving late cannot have an expectation of making it into the stadium before kick-off.

If you have a ticket with a Yellow strip along the top you are located in the Upper Tier. You will enter via Entrance 1&2.

If you have a ticket with a Black strip across the top then you are located in the Lower Tier and will enter through West Lower Terrace (Howards Entrance).

Ticket Inspection

In the interests of safety only those with a ticket will be allowed to gain entry to the away supporter’s area outside the turnstiles. Ticket inspections will be carried out upon arrival.

There will be a barrier system at the turnstiles. These help ensure that supporters are in the correct area and in possession of a ticket. Please have your ticket ready for inspection.

You will be searched before you enter Elland Road stadium.

Bag Policy

Bags larger than A4 in size will not be permitted. Unfortunately, there is no luggage storage facility at Elland Road.

Turnstiles

Entrance 1&2 are the designated turnstiles for visiting supporters to enter the ground on matchday with a valid ticket. Depending on the ticket allocation, away supporters may also use Howards Entrance as a stadium entry point. Visiting disabled supporters who have purchased accessible seats and have black ticket stubs enter the stadium by Exit W1 gate. We would strongly advise visiting supporters not to travel to Elland Road on matchdays without a valid matchday ticket. Turnstiles open 90 minutes prior to kick-off. John Charles Upper Tier will use entrance 1&2. John Charles Lower Tier will use Howards Entrance.

Away Allocation

Away supporters are housed in the South West corner of the stadium in the John Charles Stand. It is split into two sections.

Yellow Tickets- John Charles upper tier sections B1, B2, B3 & B4.

Black tickets- John Charles lower tier Sections C15, C16 & C17.

Supporters are reminded that Elland Road is an all-seater stadium. In all areas of Elland Road, there are children, elderly fans and those with medical conditions who are unable to see or watch the match if supporters stand up in front of them.

Please be mindful of this at all times and thank you for your cooperation.

Please note, there are seats located in the West Upper where licensed seating has been installed. Rail seating allows for fans to safely stand. In all other areas supporters are not permitted to stand in any seating area whilst play is in progress. Persistent standing in seated areas other than the designated rail seating areas whilst play is in progress is strictly forbidden and may result in ejection from the ground.

Cashless Stadium

Supporters are reminded that Elland Road is a cashless stadium and only card payment will be accepted at food and drink outlets at the stadium.

Matchday Programme

Matchday programmes can be purchased from programme sellers located at various points around the stadium. Payment is cash only, programmes are priced at £4.

Away Fanzone

This is located just adjacent from the away turnstiles in the West Stand car park and cordoned off for away supporters to access. A selection of food and drink (alcoholic and non alcoholic) is available.

The Fan Zone is the perfect place to build the atmosphere in the build up to the match. The Away Fan Zone is open for all home first team fixtures and opens 2 hours prior to kick-off and can be accessed at half-time.

Food & Drink

Several food and drink options are available at locations around the stadium and inside the stadium. Alcohol is served at every kiosk but cannot be taken into seating areas in the stadium bowl.

Burnley supporters...don’t forget to keep your eyes out for our familiar travelling safety stewards at Leeds United. You’ll spot them, as always, in their red jackets with Burnley badges. They’re there to help and support YOU if you need them - or just a regular, friendly face to keep you reassured and answer any questions you may have!

Supporter Information from Burnley Football Club

Burnley FC is One Club for All and we pride ourselves on being open, diverse and welcoming to everyone. Discrimination has no place in football, and we have a zero-tolerance approach to any supporter found breaching our Supporter Code of Conduct.

We will not tolerate any form of hate speech, offensive chanting or discriminatory behaviour, whether physical or verbal, from any supporters at home, away; while travelling to or from Club matches or events; or on social media or digital platforms. The Club will always take the necessary steps to eliminate such unacceptable behaviour; and the individual concerned will be subject to a sanction from the Club and may face arrest and subsequent prosecution.

Burnley Football Club has a zero-tolerance policy for fans entering the playing area and, as a result, any supporter who does so will be issued with a lifetime ban with immediate effect.

It is also against ground regulations to throw any items/missiles on the pitch - any supporter that throws anything, putting the safety of players and individuals at risk, will receive a severe banning order from the club. This behaviour will not be tolerated.

We urge all travelling supporters to ensure they represent our football club in a positive manner.

Search Procedure

Security and bag searches will take place before entering the queuing system at the turnstiles. Searches will be conducted, and you may be requested to open your own bag to allow it to be searched.

The searching protocol for fans aged 16 or under is a different process to adults and only carried out whilst a parent, guardian or member of the club’s Wellbeing Team is present.

Flags / Banners

Leeds United are happy for visiting fans to bring their flags to Elland Road providing they have the correct certificates. Please see contact details below.

Small handheld banners and flags will be allowed through the turnstiles in the North and South Stands on a matchday and will be checked by the stewards on entry - any flags that are deemed to contain offensive content will be confiscated.

Larger flags (1 metre) will need to be pre-authorised by the club in order to comply with ground health and safety regulations. No poles will be allowed inside the stands at Elland Road.

Any flag over the dimensions of 5ft by 3ft would be classed as an extra-large flag and these must strictly be agreed in advance with the Club and will be stored at Elland Road. Also, any flags which are on a wooden pole are not permitted to be brought into Elland Road.

Any flags over 1x1m must carry a fire rated certificate. We hope that this initiative will be well received by our fans and supporter groups alike.

Smoking & Vaping

The use of both cigarettes and all types of electronic cigarettes (including vapes) is not permitted anywhere inside Elland Road stadium. This includes all areas inside the stadium bowl, toilets, concourses, stairwells and bar areas.

Smoking of any kind is only permitted in designated smoking zones. Smoking zones are clearly signposted and smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking zones at half-time.

Poor Behaviour

Discriminatory language or chanting is not acceptable and will not be tolerated at Elland Road. Leeds United condemns this behaviour and has a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination abuse of all kinds.

To report an incident, text LEEDS along with any relevant information including ticket details, your name and description of an incident to 60006. You will then receive an automated response which means that your report has been logged and will then be looked into.

Once an incident has been reported, it will be logged and managed by the Stadium Control Room team. The area reported will be monitored by CCTV and stewards in the area will be notified.

In some instances, it will not always be possible for the club to take visible action straight away. However, supporters should be assured that incidents will be logged and be monitored even if there is no visual indication that this is happening. Having reported an incident using the text message reporting service, supporters may receive a reply from the club asking them for further information or providing further instructions.

Accessible Toilets

There are accessible toilets within the stadium, all accessed by radar key. If you do not have an access key, please see the nearest steward who will be able to assist.

Accessible toilets comply with DOC M3, BS 8300a Mandatory requirement incorporating 2010 & 2013 amendments: Equipped with mirrors, distress alarm system, support rails, coat hooks and lever taps on sinks etc.

Changing Places

Changing facilities are located in the South West Corner. Should you require access, please contact a steward or wellbeing officer.

Sensory Room

The sensory room is situated within one of the South Stand boxes, and the space has been specially designed for any young children or adults with sensory processing issues.

This facility offers a full unrestricted view of the pitch, creating a safe and controlled environment for supporters to watch the game.

Audio Commentary

Headsets for visually impaired supporters are available on a pre-booking basis by contacting Leeds United Disabled Coordinator via email to accessibility@leedsunited.com or by calling 0333 130 0505. To utilise a headset, a deposit of £20 is required. All headsets must be returned to the West Stand Security Office immediately after the game. The deposit will be refunded upon receipt of the headset. Any headsets not returned will be charged the full cost of replacing the headset and unit.

Assistance Dogs

Leeds United welcome supporters using an assistance dog. It is recommended to request that advance notification is given to the Club’s Disability Liaison Officer so they can ensure that they have appropriate facilities available for you and your dog on matchday.
