Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the signing of Eva Spencer, who formally joins our women’s team on her 18th birthday.
Spencer has been training with the group since the start of pre-season and featured in last weekend’s friendly against Lazio.
Having put pen to paper, she said: “It feels brilliant to be here.
“I’ve been waiting until I turn 18 to finally sign my contract, and being a professional footballer is something I’ve wanted ever since I started playing.
“As a goalkeeper experience is quite a big thing, so being able to jump into senior training and matches is the next best step for me.
“Burnley are an ambitious club and I’m excited to see the support that the fans will bring this season, starting with Middlesbrough on Sunday.”

Spencer has come through the Academy system at Liverpool and represented their U21s last season, alongside training with the Reds’ first team under Matt Beard.
The teenager made her senior debut as a substitute against Everton in December 2024’s 4-0 League Cup victory over Everton.
Prior to that, the goalkeeper had the honour of representing England at the U17s FIFA World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
Now making her first step into a full-time senior environment, she joins fellow 2024/25 Professional Game Academy Division 2 champion Maddie Robinson in the Burnley squad.
