Rebecca Sawiuk is looking to continue to build her team's confidence and continue their winning streak, as Burnley head into this weekend’s game against Nottingham Forest following back-to-back wins against AFC Fylde and Huddersfield Town.
Since the start of the season, the Clarets have remained unbeaten in the league with only drawing once against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sawiuk is looking forward to hosting The Reds this Sunday.
She said: “I am looking forward to it, it will be an entertaining game.
“Forest have recruited well, and they have a lot of talented players, and as well as that they are last season’s league and cup winners.
“I am sure they will be coming down to Burnley as the favourites and all we can do is focus on us, focus on our actions and behaviours of the game and look at what we can control and what we can bring to the game.
“It’s a massive game, I am sure that people who watch football and are in our league will be keeping an eye on this weekend.
“Some of the most talented players of this league are going head-to-head, it will be entertaining, it will be high energy and I think there will be some really special moments within this game.”
With the current standings of the FA Women’s National League North seeing Burnley top the table, with Forest chasing behind in second, it is all to play for in the battle for top spot.
In the previous home game against Wolves, the Claret Women saw a big crowd come down to cheer them on to their eventual hard-fought draw, and that is something Sawiuk hopes she will see more of in the future.
She added: “We are working hard on our mindset here and being ruthless in big moments, I am looking forward to Sunday to see who will step up for that challenge.
“Get down and come support us this weekend, these are the games we want to use our platform to inspire the next generation.
“We will go out and do Burnley proud this weekend, I am sure of it.”
