Rebecca Sawiuk is looking forward to returning to action, following two weeks without a game, when the Claret Women host Stourbridge this Sunday at the Lancashire FA County Ground.
Burnley are unbeaten in the league this season, winning their last game against Nottingham Forest 4-2, and Sawiuk is hoping her side – despite having the break between fixtures – can continue in the same vein of form when they take on the Glassgirls.
She said: “Everyone here is excited to have a game, as it’s been a couple of weeks with no game for us, so we’ve been training hard and can’t wait to get into a match really.
“We approach each game the same, each opponent, the analysis, the training, the gameplan and everything remains the same, no matter the length of the break we have.
“We’re just looking forward to getting back on the grass and we’ve had time to analyse that win against Forest, and despite the win, there’s still parts of that game we want to improve on.

“We’re looking to go each week and get even better, and hopefully we can a couple of bits we’ve been working on into the Stourbridge game at the weekend.”
The Claret Women face a busy week in the FA Women’s National League North, with fixtures against Halifax and Newcastle United to follow the game against Stourbridge, all within the space of seven days.
And despite not facing a schedule like this previously this season, Sawiuk believes her side will be more than up to the tricky task ahead.
She added: “It’s an unprecedented week I think, we have a home game against Stourbridge, then we’ve got a midweek game, and on Saturday we travel up to Newcastle.

“It’s a really busy week for every single player or member of staff that we have operating at this level, so we’re taking a deep dive and looking at nutrition, fuelling, recovery, rest and touchpoints throughout the week, whilst being really innovative and creative.
“We’ve got a big squad here, with some exciting new additions, so it’ll be a squad game and a squad week and I’m looking forward to people stepping up, taking on new roles, and playing a part in next week.”
