Burnley FC Women can confirm the signing of Monique Robinson on a loan deal from Leicester City W.F.C until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The-19-year-old is a product of the Barclays Women’s Super League club’s Academy, signing her first professional contract with the Foxes in April 2023.
She made her first team debut in a Continental Tyres League Cup match aged just 17 in January 2022, before earning her first league appearance against Chelsea two months later.
This will not be her first experience away from the Club, however, having spent 2022/23 with Loughborough Lightening on a dual registration basis.
Her first senior goal came in a 3-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023, and the strike was nominated for the league’s Goal of the Month Award.
Robinson will now continue her development under Burnley Head Coach Rebecca Sawiuk, with the Clarets aiming to gain promotion to the Championship.
After putting pen to paper at the Burnley Training Centre, Robinson said: “It’s a great club with big ambitions, so I’m buzzing to get started.
"I know the manager and she has got faith in me. I played with Kirstie (Levell) at Leicester too.
"I’m a very friendly person and I’m confident that I can fit into the group quickly ahead of our game against Newcastle United next weekend.”
Lola Ogunbote, Burnley’s Head of Women’s Football, added: “We are really pleased to get a player of Monique's quality over the line.
"She is an exceptional young talent who I am confident will settle into our squad very quickly and have a positive impact when given the opportunity.
Robinson will wear the number 34 shirt with the Clarets.
