Connor Roberts was all smiles come full-time at the Riverside Stadium following Burnley's thrilling win over Middlesbrough on Friday evening.
The Welshman's fourth league goal of the campaign sealed an important three points for the Clarets, securing promotion to the Premier League next season.
Speaking after the game whilst celebrating with the travelling fans, he said: “It feels unbelievable. It’s not just tonight, we’ve worked hard for this since the first game of the season including pre-season. To finally get over the line is unbelievable. We’ve still got a few games left so we need to kick on now, hopefully win as many of those as we can and try and be champions as well.”
When asked how he felt to see his 66th minute winner hit the back of the net he added: “It was unbelievable. I think Middlesbrough are a very good team, I obviously played for them quite a long time ago now so to come here and to get a goal is unbelievable and the fact that it pretty much seals going up is incredible.”
The scenes at full-time saw the Clarets squad, manager Vincent Kompany and coaching staff celebrate with the 2,065 away fans who had travelled.
“Yeah, you know this football club means so much to Burnley as a collective and they’ve shown that from minute one this season. This is for them and hopefully next year we can do a bit better than we did last year in the Premier League. Hopefully they enjoy every minute like they have this season.”
