10-men Clarets suffer defeat at County Ground
Steve Stone's side fell to a 1-0 defeat to the hands of Crystal Palace in the Northern division of Premier League Two this afternoon.
Brandon Pierrick's 55th minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides on a windy afternoon in Lancashire.
The Clarets played over 70 minutes of the clash with just 10 men, after Mace Goodridge was shown a red card in the first-half.
There was a debut for French midfielder Anthony Gomez Mancini, after joining the Clarets from Angers SCO earlier this month.

Palace started bright and came close with just five minutes played, as midfielder Alfie Matthews broke into the area, before striking the ball into the side netting.
Just 10 minutes later Burnley had a great opportunity of their own, as Lewis Richardson glanced a header from close range straight into the hands of Ollie Webber.
The visitors were searching for the opener as we reached midway through the first half, but an excellent challenge from Ben Woods, saw the youngster nick the ball away from Palace’s Pierrick, who weaved his way into a dangerous position.
However, moments later, the hosts were reduced to 10 men, as Goodridge looked to react with a kick, after being fouled.

Chances were then minimal for both teams up until just before the break, when Scott Banks’ free-kick took a deflection just wide of the Burnley goal.
But just 10 minutes into the second half, Palace took the lead, as Pierrick slotted home from close range, despite a smart initial block from Elva-Fountaine.
Stone’s side then went on to enjoy an attacking spell and came close to equalising just five minutes after Palace opened the scoring.
Max Thompson did well to keep the ball alive and in play inside the area, before teeing up Richardson from close range, whose effort was denied by Webber in the Palace goal.

And although the 10 men Clarets pushed for an equaliser, the Palace defence stood strong to keep the hosts at bay.
Stone's side return to action on Friday afternoon, where the Clarets travel to Middlesbrough.
