The Clarets' U17 side face Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon in the semi-final of the Clarets Cup, continuing from last season.
The competition, created last season by U18 assistant coach and Lead Phase Coach John Townson as an U17 tournament, was organised for first-year scholars with not much game time under their belt and other players around the youth team not playing every weekend.
The Clarets finished top of their respective group, which included Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Doncaster Rovers, Preston North End and tomorrow's opponents Sheffield Wednesday.
And Burnley will now travel to the Owls on Wednesday, after knocking out Barnsley in the quarter-final's, before the season was curtailed due to COVID-19.

And Townson is hoping his side can put on a solid performance to book a place in the final against Huddersfield Town, which will be played at a local stadium under the lights.
The former Accrington Stanley coach said: “Though this semi final is a continuation of last years competition, I’ve reminded the lads about how well they did last season and how we want to make the hard work last year count for something by reaching a final.
"In previous years we’ve treat this competition differently, but last year, though we did often play younger players for their development, a lot of emphasis was placed on winning the games, though good performances of course.
"We topped a very difficult group and dug out a result in a hard fought quarter final and we’re under no illusions its going to be a difficult game tomorrow.
"But it’ll be tough for Sheffield Wednesday also and we hope to work hard and put on a performance which hopefully sees us through”.
Meanwhile, the hosts finished second in the same group as the Clarets, before beating Salford City in the quarter-finals.
