Following the conclusion of the last international break of the season, Burnley are back in action on Friday night – 31st March – when Sunderland are the visitors to Turf Moor (8pm KO).
Prior to the break, Vincent Kompany’s side exited the Emirates FA Cup with a defeat to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
But in the league, following a 3-1 win away at Hull City where Nathan Tella netted a hat-trick, the Clarets are now 17 games unbeaten.
Kicking the Sky Bet Championship back off on Friday evening in BB10, Kompany’s men are 16 points clear of Middlesbrough in 3rd and 13 clear of Sheffield United in 2nd.

Sunderland
Promoted up to the second tier last season as play-off winners in Sky Bet League One, the Black Cats had seen boss Alex Neil depart to take the helm at Stoke City by the end of August.
Tony Mowbray took the reins over at the Stadium of Light, and has overseen what has so far been a steady season on Wearside with the trademark ups and downs of a Championship season.
Winning 12, drawing nine and losing 11 of his league games in charge, the North East outfit sit 11th in the standings ahead of their trip to Turf Moor.
The Black Cats do though only have one win in their last seven however, losing four of those. Before the international break, they drew 1-1 at home against Luton Town when a late Amad Diallo penalty salvaged a point.
The last time we met
Friday’s meeting at Turf Moor will be a 119th competitive one between the two sides dating back over 130 years to 1890.

The Clarets have enjoyed success against Sunderland in recent times, losing only once in six previous match-ups.
Included in that run is October’s reverse fixture up in the North East which saw Burnley come from 2-0 down at the break to hit four unanswered goals in a stunning second half comeback.
Sunderland were victorious on their last visit to Turf Moor, 3-1 winners in the League Cup back in August 2019, though haven’t won a league game in BB10 since March 2005.
