Six players stop by community's school and college programmes

Manuel Benson, Hannes Delcroix and Dara O’Shea visited Blessed Trinity High School in Burnley recently to support Burnley FC in the Community’s Schools Mental Wellbeing Project.

The players took part in a Mental Wellbeing assembly and shared their insights on maintaining mental health and wellbeing.

Burnley FC in the Community’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Michael Colquhoun said: “It was an incredible opportunity for the players to join one of our mental wellbeing sessions and witness it first-hand.

“The daily influence our staff have significantly benefits the students, but having the players reinforce these efforts by sharing their own advice and stories adds immense value and meaning.”

The excitement didn’t stop there either, as Lorenz Assignon, Maxime Esteve and David Fofana made a special visit to Accrington and Rossendale College to meet Burnley FC in the Community’s Shadow Youth Team and Post-16 Girls teams at their training sessions.

The students enjoyed the opportunity to meet the players and gain valuable insight into the life and career of a professional footballer.

“This is the second time this year we’ve welcomed the players to our Shadow Youth Training programme,” said Burnley FC in the Community’s Football Development Manager, Nathan Mottram.

“It’s truly inspiring for our players to meet the team and envision themselves in that position one day, knowing it’s achievable through hard work!”
