Harry Potts
The Clarets legend spent his youth career at Turf Moor which was interrupted by WW2 before going on to play for the first team in the 1946/47 season.
Potts played in all but two league games as Burnley won promotion from Division Two and reached the FA Cup final. The forward scored 47 goals in over 150 games for the Clarets before joining Everton in 1950, where he spent six years.
Potts went on to also have two separate spells as manager at Turf Moor, where he was highly successful being crowned First Division Champions, Anglo-Scottish Cup winners and FA Cup finalists. Harry Potts Way was then named in his honour in 2001 following his passing in 1996.

Paul Gascoigne
Born in Gateshead, ‘Gazza’ began his career with Newcastle United where he broke through and earned himself a move to Tottenham Hotspur. Following four years at Spurs, the midfielder went on to have spells with Lazio, Rangers and Middlesbrough before arriving at Everton in 2000.
Gascoigne scored his first goal for the Toffees against Bolton, which turned out to be his last goal in English football. After two years at Goodison Park, ‘Gazza’ signed for the Clarets midway through the 2001/02 campaign.
The attacking midfielder only featured six times for Burnley as Stan Ternent's side narrowly missed out on the play-offs before 'Gazza' departed Turf Moor that summer and joined Chinese side Gansu Tianma.

Martin Dobson
Rishton-born Dobson began his youth days with Bolton Wanderers but after a couple of years with the Wanderers, Dobson arrived at Burnley in 1967. The midfielder went on to play over 200 matches in seven years scoring 43 goals, before leaving for Everton in 1974 after helping the Clarets seal the Division Two title in the previous campaign.
Dobson spent five seasons with the Toffees, where he established himself amongst the starting XI and played nearly 200 matches scoring 29 goals during a five-year spell on Merseyside.
He then returned to Burnley for a second spell in 1979, where Dobson featured a further 186 times taking his tally for the Club to over 400 games in Claret & Blue before departing in 1983.
