Burnley and West Ham United played out a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.
Both teams had opportunities to score throughout the game, with the Hammers coming closest through a 25-yard strike by Declan Rice, but the game finished goalless against the Champions League chasing side.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche made three changes from last weekend’s match at Newcastle United.
Ben Mee returned from injury to replace Nathan Collins. The other two changes saw Jay Rodriguez come in for the injured Maxwel Cornet and Jack Cork swap for Josh Brownhill, the latter named on the bench for the hosts.
The hosts made a strong start at Turf Moor, and in the sixth minute, Chris Wood towered above Tomas Soucek to meet Dwight McNeil’s right hand corner, but the ball flew into the Barnfield Construction Stand.
Four minutes later, the Hammers had their first attempt on goal as Arthur Masuaku was waiting on the edge of the box to volley a header from Charlie Taylor inches wide of right-hand post.

Manuel Lanzini was the next to try his luck for the Hammers, escaping the attention of the Burnley backline, he dropped his shoulder to open up space on the edge of the box, but his shot was wayward.
A fine Pope save denied West Ham the opener with 25 minutes played, our number one showing speedy reactions to palm away a Issa Diop header after an in swinging free-kick by Jarrod Bowen.
Rodriguez, in for the injured Cornet, headed just over the cross bar after a cross by Ashley Westwood. The Burnley striker had his back to goal when the cross came in, but he cleverly manoeuvred his body to get effort away.
The second half started in quick fashion for the Clarets as Rodriguez got a shot away from a right hand sided cross, but an important block by a blue shirt deflected the ball away for a corner.
Burnley’s positive start to the final 45 continued, as McNeil hit a shot over the cross bar as we looked for the breakthrough goal.
At the other end of the pitch, Burnley couldn’t clear the ball after a wave of pressure from the Hammers, resulting in another fine stop by Pope to deny a close range header by Said Benrahma.
Rice was showing his attacking threat for the Hammers, and again he caused concern with a driving run from midfield, but his chipped shot was palmed away by Pope.

Matej Vydra was the first player introduced by Dyche, as Wood was taken off with an hour played in Lancashire. The second change soon followed, Josh Brownhill introduced to the game, a like to like swap with Ashley Westwood.
The Hammers followed up with a number of half chances, but nothing of concern to Pope. Meanwhile, the home support continued to get behind their team with Vydra having a shot blocked after a good passage of play.
England international Rice sent a fierce strike over Pope’s bar with just seven minutes remaining, the best opportunity of the game as the score remained 0-0.
Burnley had a late surge forward as they hit West Ham on the counter, but Rodriguez couldn’t get a shot away. Burnley made one last change as McNeil came off for Aaron Lennon with two minutes remaining just after the opportunity.
However, the score remained goalless and a point on the board for the Clarets.
