Scott Parker has been named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Year at the EFL Awards.

Parker was recognised for a record-breaking promotion season which includes the Clarets level on the most clean sheets in English football history at 30 and on a 32-game unbeaten run.

Burnley remain the only unbeaten team across all four divisions in 2025 and have a shot at taking the Championship title – sitting top of the league on 97 points with Leeds still to play ahead of the final round of fixtures this weekend.

And having delivered one of the performances of the season on Saturday – beating Queens Park Rangers 5-0 – Parker rounded off a perfect weekend with a personal honour.

He said: "I'm really excited and proud of the achievement on an individual level, but of course, I couldn't do this without a group of people and a group of staff that have supported and been the main driver all season.

"This is a group that has been on a journey this year, which has probably epitomised everything that a team may go through at times. I've witnessed the progression of this group as players and human beings to the point where they achieve success.

"We've worked hard as coaches, but you need a group of players that can engage. With the defensive record and everything else we have gone through this year, we're well worthy of being promoted out of this division."

Parker was not the only Claret to be highlighted during the awards ceremony with the defensive triumvirate of James Trafford, Maxime Estève and CJ Egan-Riley also being named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season.

Burnley are set to smash the all-time record for fewest goals conceded in a Championship season – the current record being 30 – with the Clarets on an astonishing 15 goals and have not conceded more than once in a game the entire campaign.

The 15 goals conceded also puts us level with Chelsea’s all-time English football record – set in the 2004/5 Premier League season – despite having eight more games to play in a league season.

The desire, relentlessness, camaraderie and trust he has built, are there for all to see and demonstrate his true leadership qualities. He is well worthy of this recognition.

“Also, a big congratulations to James, CJ and Maxime for being named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season. All three have enjoyed fantastic campaigns and I’m pleased they could be recognised in front of their family and friends on the night.

“I enjoyed being with Scott and the players as they received their awards. It was a proud evening for the Club and all the awards are testament to the hard work of Scott, all the players and the coaching and backroom staff.”
