Scott Parker and Josh Brownhill have been named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month and Player of the Month for April.
Parker’s side made a difficult set of fixtures look easy with 16 points from six unbeaten games. They demonstrated the steel he has instilled in comeback wins at Coventry and Watford before beating rivals Sheffield United to clinch promotion.
Danny Wilson chairs the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month judging panel.
He said: “What an effort from Scott and his side to push Leeds United to the final game to see who will be Champions. Six unbeaten games and 16 goals to their credit, equating to 16 points in April including terrific results against promotion candidates Sheffield United, Coventry and Millwall.”

Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “Burnley had a difficult fixture list and were under pressure in a three-horse race for the automatic promotion places. Scott Parker’s team navigated it brilliantly and confirmed their place back in the top flight of English football.
“It was a monumental season for the Clarets who only conceded 16 goals in their 46 games, their defensive prowess will be crucial as they take to life in the Premier League next season.”
Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies said: “Scott Parker has done a remarkable job at Burnley this season, building his side’s success on a rock-solid defensive foundation. Conceding just 16 goals all campaign, the Clarets were a model of consistency and discipline at the back.
“They ended the season in relentless form, collecting 25 points from the final 27 available and pushing Leeds all the way in a dramatic title race. Backed at 9/4 as one of the promotion favourites, Parker’s side lived up to expectations and more.”
Burnley attacking midfielder Josh Brownhill has also been named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for April.
It was no surprise that it was Brownhill who led Burnley across the automatic promotion line with three goals and two assists in six games, including the winner at Watford and then both goals in the clinching victory over Sheffield United.

Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “Josh Brownhill has been their standout performer in terms of goals and what’s even more impressive is that he’s a midfielder!
“He really has been ‘captain fantastic’ all season and three goals and two assists in April including both goals in that crucial win over Sheffield United capped off a fine season.”
Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies said: “Burnley captain Josh Brownhill enjoyed a sensational season, delivering the best form of his career. Operating from central midfield he remarkably netted 18 goals, nearly claiming the Championship’s Golden Boot – falling just one goal short of Leeds striker Joel Piroe.
“What makes his performance even more extraordinary is that he wasn’t even considered a contender before the season began, his odds to finish top scorer would have been well over 100/1 before a ball was kicked.”
