Head Coach Scott Parker was keen to highlight the admiration he and the team have for the support they continuously receive ahead of the Clarets' long trip to Plymouth on Wednesday night, the first of three consecutive games on the south coast.

Burnley face Argyle on Wednesday night at Home Park in the Sky Bet Championship, before travelling to Portsmouth next week and taking on Southampton in the Emirates FA Cup after that.

Speaking to the media on Monday afternoon, Parker said: "We have full admiration for their support, we always appreciate the incredible support and it means the absolute world to us all.

"To think on a Wednesday night, an 8pm kick off and our fans will come down to watch us in their numbers. I understand the costs of it, the stress of it, the hours it takes up, missing work and everything that comes with it, but they love this team, this Club and this is what they love.

"The players appreciate it a lot and so do me and the staff. However many are there at Plymouth, Portsmouth and Southampton, it really does mean a lot and doesn't go unnoticed at all."

Parker added: "It's a demanding period for us all, but we're fortunate to have a team around us that can navigate the logistics for us and make the travelling as easy as possible for us.

"It's a relentless little run of fixtures, but we aren't complaining. It's all part of it, we're in good hands and the players are well equipped the best they possibly can be for all the travelling.”

Despite Plymouth currently sat bottom of the league table, Parker is expecting a challenging test from the home side, who recently appointed Miron Muslic as boss earlier this month.

"It's not going to be an easy game. They have a new manager and current form and where they are in the league table all goes out the window and if we don't turn up with the right attitude and mentality it will be very tough.

"We approach it the same as every game, I am expecting a tough match from an aggressive team and they will want to cause us lots of problems in front of a home crowd."

Parker also provided a positive update on Nathan Redmond and Manuel Benson's return from injury.

"Nathan Redmond is training with the team now and so is Benny (Benson).

"Enock (Agyei) is on the grass and progressing well. However, the two back training are Benson and Redmond, but there is still a lot more work to be done with the group for them."
