Vincent Kompany today celebrates his one year anniversary of becoming manager of Burnley Football Club after joining the Clarets exactly one year to the day.
The Belgian arrived at Turf Moor from RSC Anderlecht alongside his coaching staff as the Clarets prepared for the Sky Bet Championship season.
In wonderful style, Kompany guided Burnley straight back to the top-flight and deservedly claimed the Sky Bet Championship title in the process.
Kompany said: “The twelve months have gone so quickly but this is still only the start.”
“Everything that’s happened over the last year we learn from and keep getting better.”
“We don’t have time to stop and reflect or whatever. Our aim is still to keep taking Burnley football club forward by working harder than before.”
Kompany also won the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award four times over the course of the season and was awarded Championship Manager of the Season.
Following the Clarets' promotion back to the Premier League, Kompany then committed himself and his staff to the club until at least the summer of 2028.
