Chris Wood was delighted with the performance but disappointed his landmark goal wasn’t enough for the Clarets to secure their first Premier League win of the season.
Wood struck his first goal of the campaign against former club Leeds to register the 30,000 scored in the Premier League era.
But a late equaliser allowed Leeds to leave Turf Moor with a point from an entertaining draw as the Clarets head for the international break.
“It’s little bit disappointing, just in the way, going up and then conceding late on,” said Wood.
“It’s a bit of a kick in the teeth. That’s life. I think we’ve done extremely well. The team was fantastic.
“I don’t know if we deserved the win, but I thought we ground it out making ourselves a good option for a win.”

The New Zealand international’s strike set a new Premier League landmark as he joked that he was in the right place at the right time to divert a Matt Lowton effort into the back of the net.
“It was a vital touch. Lucky, I didn’t clip my toenails yesterday!” added Wood, who showed his usual predatory instincts to add another to his own record Premier League tally for the Clarets.
“Matt Lowton’s lovely ball into feet and then toed round the corner and into the goal, I’ll take it.”
In a tight encounter, Wood was happy with Burnley’s display as they followed up their mid-week Carabao Cup shoot-out win to move to 16th place in the fledgling table.
“I thought we were good in our own footballing ability, we were strong, compact and solid at the back,” he said.
“We created going forward, creating a good handful of chances. On another day they drop in a certain way and go in.
“We were fantastic, we were good. I think that’s one of our better performances. I think all of our performances have been good but just haven’t given us the results.”
News broke before the game of Burnley’s signing of Ivory Coast international Maxwel Cornet from Lyon.
And like all Clarets, Wood is excited.
“Fantastic that we have a new signing in the building,” he told Clarets Plus.
“The reports say he’s a very exciting, talented young man. It will be good see him in action up close and personal, when he comes back from the internationals.”
